AU Optronics plans to begin mass production of solar cell modules
Posted on March 8th, 2010 No commentsTaiwan’s AU Optronics (AUO) display at the end of 2009, mass production of polycrystalline silicon solar Pavilion ZV5000 Battery modules in the “PVEXPO2010 the Third International Solar Exhibition” . Although so far the company has been sourcing solar cell from the outside, but “are being involved in solar cell business of seeking partners” (AUO SeniorAssociateVicePresident, SolarPhotovoltaicBusinessUnit, Jian-Bin Chen). Jian-Bin Chen said that the productive capacity of the module “There is still relatively low, plans in 2010 increased to 250MW”.
AUO has been the amount of the conversion efficiency of mass production and 13.2% of the poly-silicon solar Pavilion DV1000 Batteryl modules.
Jian-Bin Chen also said that the current “In addition to manufacturing cell, the already independent from upstream to downstream in the solar cell business.” In the polysilicon and wafer, the AU Optronics Corp. to M. SETEK funded and has achieved more than half of its shares. In the system integration, the AU participated in the European solar power projects. Jian-Bin Chen said, “Since in solar latitude d830 battery business, it is necessary unit operations involved. Currently we are considering self-produced units, but at least in the initial phase of cooperative enterprises still need help.”
AUO has begun mass production of the module conversion efficiency of 13.2%, maximum output power is 220W. In addition, the company also is developing a conversion efficiency is 14.66% of polycrystalline silicon solar cell modules and conversion efficiency is 14.7 ~ 15.05% of the single crystal silicon solar cell modules. The modules currently are manufactured in Taiwan, AUO is interested in setting up the module manufacturing base in mainland China. In addition, AUO also plans to begin volume production in 2011 thin-film silicon solar xps m1530 akku and xps m1330 batterymodules.

HP’s Longer-Lasting Laptop Battery
Posted on August 25th, 2009 No commentsHP will be the first laptop maker to offer a new laptop battery designed to maintain its energy capacity over the life of a laptop, according to an announcement from the battery maker, Boston-Power, based in Westborough, MA. The battery will be available as an option for some HP laptops starting next year.
The capacity of most batteries(hp pavilion dv2000 battery, pavilion dv6000 battery) fades markedly after just a few months, making it hard to predict how long a laptop will last between charges. Boston-Power says that the new battery will last three years without fading and that it charges to 80 percent capacity in just 30 minutes.
The hp laptop battery, which has been certified by more than one environmental organization for green design and manufacturing, should also be safer than ordinary laptop batteries, which have been known to catch fire.
For more details on the dv2000 battery and dv6000 battery design and chemistry, see “A Better Battery for Laptops.”
Update: In a conversation this afternoon, Christina Lampe-Onnerud, the company’s CEO and founder, said that the initial HP charging systems won’t be able to take advantage of the 30 minute charging time, although doing so will require relatively simple changes that will be available soon. She also said the company has started work on a pavilion zv5000 battery for electric cars, and expects to have news on this front next year.
